WordPress users get an incredible shock to the American Independence Day July 4th with the release of WordPress 3.2 “Gershwin”.
WordPress 3.2 is a major release of the 15 th in the eight-year history of this project. The focus of this release is to make things faster, lighter, and slimmer. It takes a lot of time with WordPress 3.2, either beta or final version.
What’s new with this version?
(1) New Minimum Requirements
One of the major technical changes in WordPress 3.2 is throwing supporters of the old versions of PHP and MySQL. This means that PHP 4 and My SQL 4 no longer supported.
Move to PHP 5 and MySQL 5 means that future versions of WordPress can be lighter, have the advantage of more features, and has a more optimal performance.
The new basic requirement is PHP 5.2.4 and My SQL 5.0.
You can find out if your web server meets the minimum requirements to install the plug-in Health Check of the WordPress directory. It just tells you which version of PHP and MySQL you are running and lets you know whether according to WordPress 3.2.
(2) Goodbye IE 6
WordPress.com WordPress.org follow the trail left the support in IE6. IE6 supports a long struggle for the UI team – many new additional features and can not be played with an outdated browser.
For corporate users, who are still forced to use IE 6 at work, move from IE 6 and go to a more modern browser like Google Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Safari, or IE 9. (continue reading…)
