World Cup 2010 had not yet final, but the television industry activists had planned to make a holographic TV technology to watch the World Cup in 2022.
Scientifically adapting fiction film Star Wars, TV claimed it displays three-dimensional image that can be enjoyed without using 3D glasses. This device resembles a book that lay on the floor and using lasers to create images that float in the middle of the room that can be enjoyed from every angle.
As quoted from the Daily Mail, the Japanese NHK broadcasting company has committed to broadcast the 2022 World Cup using Holo-TV technology rumors was worth 2.8 million pounds.
How does it work? Pictures will be taken with a 360-degree angle and use the 200 high-definition camera and then transmitted to the 3D image. Images can be projected like a real game into an empty field across the world, giving the illusion of the real for the viewers who watch it.
But what’s interesting is a special microphone that deliberately put under the field so that all voices in the game can be heard, like the sound of a ball that was kicked and the referee’s whistle. This technology creates an ultra-realistic digital version.
“You might say the technology is only a dream because it adapts from a movie,” said Professor Murai of Keio University in June. “However, this is important to see how technology will develop within 12 years. I think this will be realized and brought into use around the year 2016,” the lid.
